The Edge Wraps up Fifth Week With Thursday Morning Session

The unusual fifth week of The Edge conditioning program wrapped up Thursday morning, July 11, in the Multipurpose Building. Thursday’s session followed two UIL mandated days off.

Wildcats Football Offensive Coordinator Matt Young called Thursday’s workout highly productive, although he did say attendance was a little lower than usual after the two days off.

The Edge wraps up next week with four more sessions Monday through Thursday.

Coach Young says athletes who complete The Edge will come out of it in the best shape of their lives. He says The Edge not only makes athletes bigger, faster and stronger, it always focuses on injury prevention. Coach Young says The Edge has drills for neck strengthening to help prevent concussions, leg exercises to lessen hamstring pulls, stabilization techniques to help prevent knee injuries and exercises to strengthen the inside of shoulders.
