Lady Cats Track Team Wins Area Meet, Six Lady Cats Qualify for Regional Meet

The Lady Cats’ track team won the Area Track Meet Thursday, April 18, at Longview Pine Tree, scoring 96 points and qualified six athletes in eight events for the Regional Track Meet on April 26-27 in Arlington.

Sadavia Porter qualified in two events winning the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.109 and finishing second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.211. Porter also qualified as a member of the Lady Cats first place winning 4×100-meter relay team that ran a time of 48.321.

Other members of the relay team are Breasia Ivery, Kiyonna Redmon and Abbi Baier.

Ivery also qualified in the 100-meter dash with a third place finish with a time of 12.664.

Baier also won both and 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles and was second in long jump to qualify in all three events, as well as being a member of the 4×100-meter relay team. Baier was timed in 14.825 in the 100-meter hurdles, 45.735 in the 300-meter hurdles and she went 17-feet, 6 and ¾ inches in the long jump.

Danielle Godbolt was second in the discus to qualify with a throw of 106-feet, 5 inches.

Claire Bybee was second in the pole vault to qualify with a jump of 10-feet, 9 inches.

Qualifying as alternates to Regional with fifth place finishes were Ivery in the long jump, Abbi Beggs in the discus and Brooklyn Burnside in the high jump.

In other Lady Cats finishes, Aliyah Abron was sixth in the 400-meter dash, Sydney Washburn was sixth in the 1600-meter run and seventh in the 3200-meter run, Sable Erdmier was eighth in discus and the Lady Cats 4×400-meter relay team finished eighth. Relay team members are Dalanee Myles, Burnside, Kaylee Malone and Abron.
