A regular meeting of the Sulphur Springs ISD school board was held on Monday,

March 11, 2019 in the Board Room of the SSISD Administration Building.

PUBLIC FORUM

No one requested to address the Board.

Businesses were acknowledged for their support of SSISD and the community via the TASB 2018-2019 Business Recognition Program.

ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS

Douglass ECLC students demonstrated the Drum Fit program.

Fine Arts students gave performances in recognition of “Music in Schools” month.

Laci Ragan highlighted the elementary reading program.

Kristin Monk and Josh Williams presented highlights of elementary and secondary campuses/programs.

Head Start items below were given to the Board for informational purposes.

  • Head Start Director’s Report for February
  • Policy Council Minutes for February and March

ACTION ITEMS

Along with routine matters, the following were approved:

Ordinance 1-19 to cancel the trustee election for Saturday, May 4, 2019.

Purchase of new band uniforms.

Head Start Director to apply for Head Start 5-year baseline grant.

Engagement letter with Rutherford, Taylor & Company, P.C. for the fiscal year ending August 31, 2019.
