Lady Cats Softball Picks Up Scrimmage Win

After a recent scrimmage diet of big, strong softball programs, the Lady Cats’ softball team picked on someone their own size during a scrimmage at Wylie East Tuesday evening (February 5) that resulted in a 6-1 Lady Cats win. Lady Cats Coach David Carrillo said the Lady Cats played very well.

Bailey Haggerty had a strong night in the circle allowing just one run and 3 hits over six innings. Haggerty struck out 4 and walked only one. The Lady Cats bats were also booming as they pounded out ten hits. Alli Fite and Sadie Stroud led the hit parade with 2 hits apiece. Fite was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs. Stroud was 2 for 3 with a run. Grace Magnuson was 1 for 2 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Landri Bell was 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Abbi Baier was 1 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBIs. Addison Caddell was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Maddie Millsap was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Addison DeSmet was 1 for 3 with a run scored.

The Lady Cats committed no errors. The Lady Cats scored three runs in the second, another run in the third and 2 more runs in the fourth inning to go up 6-0. The Lady Raiders managed a single run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Lady Cats play their last scrimmage of the season Friday against North Lamar at Lady Cat Park beginning at 5 p.m.
