Funeral service for Leta York, age 99, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Terry Bolton and Tom Friday officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery. Visitation will be held one prior to the service. Mrs. York passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital, Sulphur Springs.
Leta was born on June 25, 1919 in Weaver, Texas to Welcome and Donnie Smith. She worked as a office manager and was a member of Weaver Baptist Church.
She is survived by her grandsons, Toby Boatman and wife, Sandy and Todd Boatman; great grandchildren, Josh Boatman (Tye), Jacob Boatman (Ashten), Nathan Boatman (Shayna) all of Sulphur Springs, Ethan Boatman (Victoria) of London, AR; great great grandchildren, Emma Boatman, Bayler Boatman, Brayden Boatman, Brett Boatman, Aubrey Boatman.
Leta was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Paul Harris and Henry York; infant daughter; daughter, Gwendolyn Boatman; sister Lorene Wynn (Paul). Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral
