Harold Dayne Redding

Harold Dayne Redding went to be with Jesus on January 2, 2019. He was born on September 4, 1931 in Winnsboro to James Perry and Lillie Mae Redding. He married his precious wife, Kitty Maxine Anderson on January 16, 1953.

Dayne entered the military in 1950 and retired in1971 as a Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army. After his retirement, he worked very hard to build a successful concrete business. Dayne measured his success by his ability to bless others as the Lord had blessed him. He loved the town and people of Winnsboro. He proudly served on the Winnsboro ISD school board from 1986-1996, Winnsboro City Council from 1996-1997 and was the Mayor of Winnsboro from 1997-2001. Dayne was named Man of the Year in 1995. He was very honored and proud to serve his country and his community, yet he wanted to be remembered most for his service in the Army of God.

Dayne and Maxine were faithful members of First Baptist Church of Winnsboro where he served as a deacon for many years. He loved sharing his life story with others and how he came to know the Lord as his Savior. When Dayne shared his testimony with others, he made sure that they knew that regardless of their circumstances, that Jesus loved them too! His greatest prayer and desire was that all of his family and friends would make Jesus the Lord of their life.

Dayne loved and treasured his family more than any man on Earth. He was the absolute best Husband, Dad and Papaw in the world! He told them daily how much he loved them and left hand written notes to remind them of his love and that he would be waiting on them all in Heaven.

The ones that are left to follow Dayne to their heavenly home one day is his sweetheart of nearly 66 years, his two precious daughters, Kitty and Karen and his grandchildren. He has five grandchildren Jason Anders and wife Lesli, Cody Anders and wife Andrea, Kristen McNew and husband Dustin, Korey Young and wife Danielle, Klay Young and wife Bailey and 9 great grandchildren Dylan, Dooley, Cameron, Memphis, Coen, Madden, Paisley, Piper and Parker. He is also survived by his sister in law Barbara Redding and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved friends. Dayne’s girls and grandkids were the light of his life!

Loved ones that went before him were his parents, two brothers Howard Redding and Wayne Redding and son in law Kenny Young.

Visitation is scheduled form 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Saturday, January 6, 2019 at Beaty Funeral Home in Winnsboro. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 7, 2019 at First Baptist Church in Winnsboro, interment will follow at Lee Cemetery.
