Lady Cats Play Northwest Classen at Idabel Tourney Friday

The Lady Cats’ basketball team is in the Championship Bracket in the Idabel, Oklahoma Winter Classic. The Lady Cats’ opened the tournament Thursday morning (December 27) with a 54-41 win over Arkansas High. The win improved the Lady Cats’ season record to 16-3. They have won 7 games in a row. The Lady Cats play again Friday at 4 p.m. against Northwest Classen from Oklahoma City. The Lady Cats third game of the tournament will take place Saturday.

Thursday, the Lady Cats got 22 points from Sadavia Porter and 17 points from Autumn Tanton. Danielle Godbolt scored 7 points. Aliyah Abron scored 4 points. Nylah Lindley and Latavia Smith scored 2 points each.

The Lady Cats got off to a good start leading by 8, 18-10 after the first quarter. Arkansas High trimmed the lead to 3 points, 29-26 at the half. Then the Lady Cats outscored Arkansas 25-15 over the final two quarters. The Lady Cats hit 52% of their shots and held Arkansas High to 47%. The Lady Cats were 2 out of 6, or 33%, from three-point range. Porter and Godbolt had three pointers. The Lady Cats outrebounded Arkansas High, 26-21. The Lady Cats had 18 steals. They committed 19 turnovers. Porter had 5 assists. Abron and Tanton had 2 blocked shots. Porter had 6 steals. Lindley had a team high 9 rebounds.
