John Sellers, local historian, will present a history of the three Ashcroft homes on Oak Avenue when the Hopkins-Rains Retired School Personnel meets Tuesday, December 11 at 10:00 am at The Oaks Bed & Breakfast, 516 Oak Ave., Sulphur Springs.
“The Oaks” is our current location for monthly meetings. We’ll learn the history of this home, which was built for a member of the Ashcroft family
Those present have been invited across the street from The Oaks to tour the first floor of the “Roper & White” law firm, which was formerly an Ashcroft home.
Those present will discover the history of this home, which originally belonged to Charles F. Ashcroft.
Marilyn Powers, a member of the Hopkins-Rains County Retired School Personnel organization said guests are welcome attend this interesting program.
