Wildcats Basketball Game Day at Tyler Lee
The #8 ranked Class 5A Wildcats have another game date against a Class 6A team on the road on this Tuesday game day (December 18). The Wildcats face Tyler Lee. There will be a freshman contest at 5 p.m., a JV contest at 6:15 p.m. with the varsity game scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Wildcats come in with a 10-6 season record. They will be trying to break a four game losing streak. Three of those four losses have come to Class 6A teams ranked in the top 13 in the state. On KSST Radio and Cable Channel 18’s Saturday Morning Coaches Show, Wildcats Coach Clark Cipoletta talked about Tyler Lee. He said they are well coached and he added he remembers the coach when he was at Lindale when Cipoletta was a high school player at West Rusk. Coach Cipoletta said the coach has turned the Raiders program around. He said Tyler Lee is athletic with lots of younger players. Coach Cipoletta said Lee likes a speedy tempo. He said they are like Mount Pleasant and Texas High so Coach Cipoletta feels this game will be good preparation for later district games.
Lady Cats Basketball Game Day Versus North Lamar at Home
The Lady Cats’ basketball team plays old foe North Lamar at Wildcats Gym on this Tuesday game day (December 18). A JV contest gets things rolling at 4:30 p.m. The varsity game will follow at around 5:45 p.m. The Lady Cats come in with a 13-3 season record. The Lady Cats have won their last four games. The Pantherettes have played several teams the Lady Cats have played. North Lamar lost to Idabel, Oklahoma 39-37 last Friday. They also lost to Emory Rains, 36-22 and to Gilmer, 54-20. In some other games this season, the Pantherettes have wins over Greenville, 40-23, Sherman 48-26, Commerce 47-21 and Celeste 47-37. North Lamar is the alma mater of Lady Cats Basketball Coach Brittney Tisdell. She has coached against her old school before as an assistant at cross town rival Paris. Coach Tisdell expects the game in Sulphur Springs to be quite a bit less frantic than those old intercity battles. She said North Lamar is playing well this season. Coach Tisdell said she has been hearing some good things about the Pantherettes. She said her Lady Cats match up well against North Lamar and she said she expects a good game from her team.
