October 24th

At 1:03 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 2:37 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on FM 852 near Winnsboro; at approximately 6:37 a.m. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy transport.

At 8:10 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 11:16 a.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on CR 4560 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. in Yantis, at approximately 5:04 p.m., in reference to theft. A known actor stole a gallon of tea from the reporting party’s store. The actor was located and issued a citation.

At 5:10 p.m., cows were reported out on HWY 154 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:20 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on PR 8563 near Winnsboro; at approximately 8:19 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2140 near Quitman, at approximately 10:41 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2275 near Mineola, at approximately 11:13 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 11:25 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

October 25th

At 3:05 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3440 near Hawkins, at approximately 4:31 a.m., in reference to a theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a trailer and an ATV from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1970 near Yantis, at approximately 8:40 a.m., in reference to a theft. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 8:51 a.m., cows were reported out on R 4940 near Quitman.

At 9:48 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

At 9:56 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

At 10:07 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 10:59 a.m., in reference to theft that occurred on CR 3425 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2140 near Quitman; at approximately 11:39 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 17 near Yantis, at approximately 2:32 p.m., in reference to theft. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a boat from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1336 near Quitman, at approximately 5:45 p.m., in reference to a dispute. An individual was transported to the hospital by EMS and the scene was cleared.

At 6:31 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 14 near Hawkins; at approximately 9:18 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Yantis; at approximately 9:35 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 154 near Yantis; at approximately 10:04 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 10:22 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4150 near Quitman.

October 26th

At 4:55 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 515 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2632 near Mineola, at approximately 7:02 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 8:33 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Yantis.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:24 a.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 11:29 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 1210 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 7908 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:41 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 11:49 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.

At 12:32 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2210 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1700 near Yantis, at approximately 4:37 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

At 7:54 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2336 near Mineola.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 9:31 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2840 near Mineola, at approximately 11:39 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 11:48 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

October 27th

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on Lake Hawkins point; at approximately 1:37 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4700 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:34 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1254 near Mineola, at approximately 2:53 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 3:22 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 2351 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman, at approximately 9:28 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 9:48 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 1647 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3495 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:44 a.m., in reference to an inquest. A male, 55, was found deceased in his residence. The Justice of the Peace arrived and no autopsy was ordered.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:30 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1835 near Yantis, at approximately 5:51 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Alba Golden School, at approximately 6:34 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies determined the alarm was an accident and the incident was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:36 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the building and it was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2088 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:07 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:33 p.m., in reference to a reckless driver. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2140 near Quitman, at approximately 9:36 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Trail near Hawkins, at approximately 9:52 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 11:12 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1600 near Alba, at approximately 11:14 p.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies advised the individuals to lower the volume of the music and cleared the incident.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 80 near Mineola; at approximately 11:37 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

October 28th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 12:14 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

At 12:57 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 2911 near Hawkins.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3281 near Quitman, at approximately 3:20 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 3832 near Hawkins; at approximately 3:22 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and it was towed by Joes Wrecker.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2088 near Winnsboro; at approximately 9:37 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2546 near Mineola, at approximately 12:44 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 2:23 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the day.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2275 near Mineola, at approximately 3:03 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

At 6:53 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 1336 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3450 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:49 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Kevin Erwin, 41, of Winona, was arrested for Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 7:39 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on HWY 154 near Quitman; at approximately 10:36 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle and cleared the scene.

October 29th

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 11 near Winnsboro; at approximately 12:08 a.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

At 1:23 a.m., horses were reported out on HWY 37 near Quitman.

At 2:03 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 11 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 4:25 a.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 9:37 a.m., in reference to a scam that occurred on HWY 154 near Quitman. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2330 near Mineola, at approximately 12:36 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:19 p.m., in reference to an assault. This case is active.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 1:46 p.m., in reference to harassment that occurred on FM 2869 near Winnsboro. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1960 near Yantis, at approximately 3:27 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 6:51 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on CR 3494 near Hawkins. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:52 p.m., in reference to drug offenses. Jarvis Security found several narcotics on the property. This case is forwarded to investigators.

October 30th

At 1:13 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4530 near Winnsboro.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on CR 1214 near Quitman; at approximately 2:52 a.m. Tyler Huff, 23, of Mineola, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

At 8:35 a.m., cows were reported out on HWY 182 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1418 near Quitman, at approximately 9:19 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

At 9:45 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2966 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4890 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:25 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the individual.

At 3:21 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2225 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2311 near Mineola, at approximately 4:11 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Deputies spoke with all parties involved and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 6:04 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and provided a courtesy transport.

At 6:24 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2869 near Winnsboro.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to FM 69 near Como; at approximately 8:00 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 49 near Mineola, at approximately 8:15 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any suspicious activity.

Deputies went out on an arrest/warrant service to Wigley St. in Mineola; at approximately 8:33 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party, at approximately 8:52 p.m., in reference to terroristic threat that occurred on HWY 80 near Hawkins. Deputies gave the reporting party advice and cleared the incident.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4200 near Winnsboro, at approximately 9:13 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the suspicious activity and everything was OK.

Between the dates of October 24 and October 30, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included the following: Department of Public Safety, Emergency Medical Services and Police Departments.

Total Jail Count –123 inmates – 95 males and 28 females.
