Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears Play Fruitvale in Bi-District

The Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears’ volleyball team is going to the playoffs after a thrilling Senior Night win over 2-A Maud in five sets, 3-2. The Lady Bears trailed two sets to one but rallied to win the last two sets and the match. The score was 25-23, 17-25, 22-25, 25-22 and 16-14. The Lady Bears play Fruitvale in bi-district in Cumby Monday (October 29) night at 6 p.m.

Against Maud, senior Makenna Morgan had 12 service points, 14 kills and three blocks. Senior Kaylon Hume had 7 service points, 17 assists and 2 kills. Senior Margaret Ryman had 10 kills and 2 assists. Ryman is normally the team’s Libero but played hitter with a player out. Senior Kiersten Brown had 9 service points and 5 kills. Alley Collett had 8 service points, 20 assists and 3 blocks. Ann Dorner had 5 service points, 15 kills and a block. Freshman Lydia Drummond had 8 service points in the last two sets. Sulphur Bluff’s volleyball coach is Zandra Peyton.
