Calling All Photographers! Take a Trolley Ride to the World-Wide Photo Walk at Heritage Park this Saturday, October 6 !

Perry Altenbaumer, DBA Photo Walk Committee

Perry Altenbaumer, local businessman and member of the Sulphur Springs Downtown Business Alliance, is encouraging all photographers and wanna-bees to join in a world wide photo contest on Saturday October 6, 2018 right here in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Cities everywhere are encouraged to stage a local version of the World Wide Photo Walk on October 6 in order to qualify to submit photos for the contest. The Downtown Business Alliance took on the challenge a few years ago, and for the 2018 session, encourages anyone, professional or amateur with a camera or cell phone, to enter the fun contest absolutely free of charge! Below, see some examples of previous Photo-Walk entries.

All you need to do is meet at 9 am Saturday, October 6 at Plain and Fancy Sandwich Shop downtown, attend a group briefing by DBA President Billie Ruth Standbridge, then hop aboard the Sulphur Springs Trolley for a short ride to Heritage Park. For about an hour, you’ll stroll the grounds taking photos of Indian Summer Day activities amidst the historic settings. Then, back to Celebration Plaza for another hour’s photo session around the square. Along the way, take advantage of free professional advice on subjects, settings, lighting, etc. from two local photographic experts, Isabel Reyna and Leesa Toliver. After the Walk concludes, participants will have one week to submit their best photo-shopped work to the local judging panel, who will select the winners. A local reception will be announced where photos will be shown, winners announced and prizes awarded. Prizes will be from Alliance Bank, Corner Grub House and The Magic Scoop Ice Cream Shoppe/General Store. Winning photos will be submitted to the World Wide Photo Walk. The works of global winners will receive publicity and major prizes.  Over 24,000 cities in the U.S. are expected to participate as well as towns in numerous countries of the world.
