Wildcats Athletic Director Greg Owens has once again filled all the slots on his coaching staff. He thought that was done earlier this month until Lady Cats Assistant Basketball Coach Ashton Wells resigned to become the head girls basketball coach at Winona. The Sulphur Springs school board accepted Coach Wells resignation at a July 9th meeting.
Monday night (July 23), the Sulphur Springs School Board approved Coach Owens choice to replace Coach Wells. He is Jeremy DeLorge, a graduate of Tarleton State University. DeLorge will assist new Lady Cats Basketball Coach Brittney Tisdell who was hired to replace Coach Jeff Chapman who has moved to Paris to become her head girls basketball coach and girls athletic coordinator.
Jeremy DeLorge is the brother of Brandon DeLorge, who Coach Owens recently hired as a Wildcats Assistant Basketball Coach. Brandon will coach freshman for Wildcats Head Basketball Coach Clark Cipoletta. Brandon DeLorge comes from Bland where he was the head boys coach. Coach Brandon DeLorge replaces Cameron Warren who will now be a baseball assistant coach. Coach Warren replaces Coach Jason Meskimen who is moving from baseball assistant to track.
