Sulphur Springs, TX – CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs had a special delivery on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 by OB/GYN, Dr. Somjai Tris.
Dr. Tris delivered his 13,000th baby at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs.
He began his practice in Hopkins County in November, 1980 and his first delivery was in the first quarter of 1981. Dr. Tris was instrumental in the planning and development of the current Perinatal Department, which opened in May, 1997.
The Perinatal Department is a department with 8 Labor-Delivery-Recovery-Postpartum rooms and 4 post-partum rooms. The nursery recently obtained a Level 2 certification.
Dr. Tris is one of the providers who provide OB services to our community along with our CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic providers which include OB/GYN’s Dr. Darryl Doughtie, Dr. Martin Fielder, Dr. Tiffany Gebel and midwife Deb Logan.
The associates of the Perinatal Department are hosting a reception for Dr. Tris and his staff and the new family on Wednesday, July 25 at noon in the Perinatal Department.
