Local Law Enforcement to Escort Body of Marine Through Hopkins County Monday

Hopkins County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sulphur Springs Police Officers will escort the body of 19-year old Marine, Jordan Smith  through Hopkins County as he is taken to his home town of Broken Bow, Oklahoma for burial, according to Sheriff Lewis Tatum. He died as the result of an accident at his military base last week.

The route through the county will be along I-30. Plans call for placing a U. S. Flag on the Highway 69 overpass and the escort to travel from the Hunt County line to the Franklin County line sometime between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday.

Smith’s funeral is set for Wednesday at Broken Bow High School Auditorium.
