Funeral services for Earl D. Manning, age 84, of Sulphur Springs, TX, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2018 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Bradley French, Dylan Smith, Myles Manning, Jason Knight, Mathew Manning, and Steve French serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Brecken French. Visitation will be at 10:00 a.m., prior to service time. Earl passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Legend Health Care and Rehab in Greenville, TX.
He was born on October 27, 1933 in Bennington, OK, the son of Homer B. and Lillie Starnes Manning. He married Mary Van Buren Manning in Dallas, TX in 1957. She preceded him in death in 2002. He later married Janie Dowdy Manning on October 16, 2004, in the Reilly Springs Community. She survives. Earl served in the United States Army and was of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his wife, Janie, he is survived by daughter, Barbara French and husband Steve of Bennington, OK, sons, Mark Manning of Dallas, TX, Stephen Manning and wife Kimberly of Wylie, TX, step-daughters, Connie Fisher of Yantis, Lavanna Eppars of Sulphur Springs, TX, Pam Watkins and husband Dale of Sulphur Springs, TX, Vickie Partridge and husband Jeff of Denton, TX, Cindy Pickrell of Denton, TX, sisters, Ruth Weddell, Fran Wright of Lewisville, a plethora of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his first wife Mary, he is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Loraine Dobbs and Ruby Cheek.
