CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital Now an Underwriting Sponsor of the Independence Concert

L. to R. Linda Galligher, Paul Harvey and Sharla Campbell

During the Morning Show with Enola Gay, Symphony League President Sharla Campbell and Vice President Linda Galligher were excited to introduce Paul Harvey, CEO of CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital in Sulphur Springs as a new sponsor of the annual event set for Saturday June 30, 2018. “We’ve been looking for a signature event that involves the entire community, and we feel that we found it in the Independence Concert” Harvey said. He feels pleased, proud and privileged to join Alliance Bank and Grocery Supply Inc. as an underwriting sponsor, and he is looking forward to attending his family’s first Independence Concert in their new hometown. He joined CHRISTUS Mother Francis Sulphur Springs on July 12, 2016.

Harvey invites everyone to visit a “Sports Medicine Lab” trailer that will be set up on Celebration Plaza, to demonstrate this new facet of care being offered at CHRISTUS Mother Francis Hospital. In fact, a new Orthopedics Center will open in August 2018, headed by Dr. Graves. Harvey reports that an Intensive Care Unit comparable to larger city hospitals is now ours, a component in a “journey” of changes and improvements already in place for the local community, and with more to come. “When you come to the hospital, whether as a patient or a visitor, you will pick up a very positive vibe, from Emergency Room to patient floors, and in every department. We are quite proud of that,” says Harvey. On concert evening, you are invited to stop by the purple tent, enjoy a purple drink and pick up some of the nice giveaways especially for concertgoers.

Sharla reminds everyone that this is the 27th annual Independence Concert, and everyone is invited free of charge. The music will begin at 8pm and the fireworks will follow. Please bring folding chairs of picnic blankets. About 100 folding chairs will be set up at the front for military Veterans. Although the production has a price tag of about $38,000.00, it remains free to the public thanks to the three major underwriting sponsors, the annual Symphony Auction, memberships and individual donations.
