Senior Citizens always have lots to do in Sulphur Springs, but the months of May and June are special. You can get all the details at the Sr’s Center, 150 MLK Drive, which is also the home base of Meal a Day. Here are two of the exciting events planned in the community!
The first event is a “Party in the Park” on Tuesday May 8 from 5pm until 6:30pm under the Pavilion in Buford Park. Dale “The C” Cummings will provide entertainment with 50’s Rock n Roll. Be prepared to dance and enjoy the music of the era! Best costumes will win prizes, and a “dance-off” is planned to round out the fun. Hot dogs and coke floats will be served by members of the Hopkins County Marketers Association.
The “Ms. Hopkins County Senior Classic Pageant” is planned on Saturday June 9 at 6pm at the Hopkins County Civic Center. The pageant is free for ladies age 60 and older to enter, and there is still room for more contestants. This is the 9th annual pageant, and winners are eligible to advance to the Ms. Texas Senior Classic Pageant during Summer 2018.
