City Election Results to Be Confirmed Thursday

More voters turned out during early voting than on election day for the City of Sulphur Springs election that  put three new individuals in Place 1, 2, and 3 of the Sulphur Springs City Council for the next three years. Elected were Place 1 , Erica Armstrong ; Place 2, Jimmy Lucas; and Place 3, Norman Sanders. Andy Lowen received 29 votes and Justin Davidson 42 votes even though both had withdrawn from the race. The results will be canvased at a special city council meeting Thursday evening.

Sixteen registered voters in the city had requested the Secretary of State provide  observers to insure the integrity of the election.
