Lady Cats Softball Control Their District/Playoff Destiny

Lady Cats Softball Coach David Carrillo said his team’s Tuesday (April 3) night home 10-4 loss to Hallsville was just one of those things that happens. After the game, Coach Carrillo told his team they still control their own destiny.

He compared the loss to a road bump in a parking lot. Coach Carrillo said everything seemed to be out of sync Tuesday. He said his team did not play well. Coach Carrillo said even pitcher Bailey Haggerty seemed out of sync. She had an unheard of seven walks. Coach Carrillo said part of that was the umpire’s strike zone. He said Haggerty would bounce back along with the entire team.

Coach Carrillo said there are winners and learners. He wants his team to use the loss to get better as a team. Coach Carrillo said he hopes his team will refocus. He told his team they need to win their last four district games to win a district championship. The first of the four games takes place Friday evening at Pine Tree.
