Soccer: Wildcats, Lady Cats Lose District Games to Mount Pleasant

The Wildcats’ soccer team slipped to 2-2 in district play after a 3-1 loss at Mount Pleasant Friday night (February 16). The Tigers scored the only goal of the first half and led 1-0 at the half. Mount Pleasant tallied two more goals in the second half and the Wildcats got one. The Wildcats are now 9-8 for the season. They play Greenville at Gerald Prim Stadium Monday night at 7 p.m.

Mount Pleasant 2, Lady Cats Soccer 0

The short-handed Lady Cats’ soccer team found Mount Pleasant too much to handle as the Lady Tigers took a 2-0 victory at Gerald Prim Stadium Friday night (February 16). With the wind to their backs, the Lady Tigers scored two first half goals. The second half was scoreless. The Lady Cats did not have high scoring forward Mileena Zirretta who was unable to play because of getting two yellow cards in earlier district play. Jo McMillan, Makenna Kagar and Anna Irving were all sidelined due to injury. The Lady Cats are now 3-1 in district play and are 11-3-3 for the season. The Lady Cats will play at Greenville Monday night at 7 p.m.
