Lady Cats Win Three Games Saturday in Allen Tournament

The Lady Cats’ softball team played like they were glad to get back on the field as they won all three games they played Saturday in an Allen tournament. The Lady Cats had not played for eight days.  Saturday the Lady Cats defeated Frisco Liberty 5-1, eked by McKinney North 3-2 and clobbered Dallas W.T. White 13-1.

Bailey Haggerty got the pitching win against Frisco Liberty giving up only 1 earned run in 5 innings on 5 hits while striking out 3 and walking only 1. The Lady Cats had 8 hits. Sadie Stroud was 2 for 3 with 2 RBIs and a run scored. Macee Hollins was 2 for 3. Brinklee Driver was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Alyssa Abron was 1 for 3 with 3 runs scored. Kelsey Wallace was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Alli Fite was 1 for 3. The Lady Cats committed 4 errors.

The Lady Cats defeated McKinney in walk off fashion on a Brinklee Driver hit. Driver was 1 for 3 with the RBI. Others collecting hits were Abron, Jacklyn Semler, Hollins and Nylah Lindley. Runs were scored by Stroud, Semler and Lindley. The Lady Cats only had 5 hits. Haggerty collected another pitching win allowing only 2 earned runs and 4 hits over 5 innings with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts.

The Lady Cats completed the day with a rout of Dallas W.T. White. Cheslee Roberts and Fite combined to throw a 3 inning no hitter. Roberts got the pitching win going 2 innngs and allowing 1 earned run on no hits with 2 strikeouts and 5 walks. Fite went 1 inning allowing no runs or hits with 1 strikeout and 2 walks. The Lady Cats pounded out 9 hits. Maddie Millsap was 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs, 1 runs scored and a double. Sierra Smith drove home 2 runs and scored a run. Abron was 1 for 2 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Landri Bell was 1 for 1 with a triple, and 2 runs scored. Colbria Harrison walked twice and scored 2 runs. Wallace was 1 for 2 with an RBI, 1 run scored and a triple. Driver was 1 for 2 with an RBI, 1 run scored and a double. Stroud was 1 for 3 with an RBI and 1 run scored. Hollins was 1 for 1 with 1 RBI, 1 run scored and a triple. Karlee Adams was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a double.

The Lady Cats are now 7-1 for the season. They will play Royse City in a doubleheader at Texas A&M-Commerce Monday beginning at 4 p.m.
