Miller Grove Rebounds for Win; Face Roxton in Homecoming Game Next Tuesday

The Miller Grove Hornets’ basketball team remained unbeaten in district play with a come from behind win against Fannindel, 68-62 Tuesday night (January 23).

Fannindel had a big 21-9 lead after one quarter and led 32-29 at halftime. The Hornets outscored Fannindel 39-30 in the second half to get the win.

The Hornets were led by Treyton Andree who had 28 points. Luke Brignon had 17. Kobe Robertson had 10 points. Andjelo Alcox scored 9. Grant Sharp and Grant Earp both scored 2 points.

Hornets Coach Gary Billingsley said the Hornets were very sluggish on the offensive end and that resulted in some easy baskets for Fannindel. Coach Billingsley gave Fannindel credit for playing with a lot of intensity. He said he was also proud of his team for battling and getting another road win.

The Hornets are 4-0 in district play and are 18-13 for the season. The Hornets also won on the road Friday at Sulphur Bluff, 54-38. Luke Brignon had 17 points. Albert Serrano had 14, Treyton Andree 11, Andjelo Alcox 9 and Jack McCoy 3.

The Hornets will host Roxton for a homecoming game next Tuesday.
