August 2nd

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2110 near Quitman, at approximately 12:44 a.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies searched the area and the scene was cleared.

At 9:14 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 778/South of FM 3056 near Hawkins.

Deputies responded to a suspicious person on HWY 11 near Winnsboro; at approximately 9:15 a.m. Deputies located the individual and everything was cleared.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at 9:59 a.m., in regards to a theft that occurred on CR 1545 near Alba. A known actor stole money from the reporting party’s residence.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3428 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:41 a.m., in reference to a burglary of a building. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged windows and stole an A/C unit from the residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 12:59 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2330 near Mineola.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party over the phone, at approximately 1:40 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on CR 4255 near Winnsboro. Actors, or actors unknown, stole a hay spike from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 5:40 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2360 near Mineola, at approximately 7:26 p.m., in reference to shots fired. Deputies located the individual shooting the gun and everything was OK.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on CR 2428 near Como; at approximately 7:58 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3226 near Quitman, at approximately 10:48 p.m., in reference to suspicious circumstances. Deputies located the activity and the scene was cleared.

August 3rd

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2129 near Quitman, at approximately 8:12 a.m., in reference to an animal complaint. Deputies located the dogs and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to Winnsboro St. near Quitman, at approximately 2:52 p.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies issued Criminal Trespass Warnings to two individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 6:48 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and the building was secure.

August 4th

At 7:05 a.m., horses were reported out on CR 2460 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3230 near Quitman, at approximately 9:27 a.m., in reference to an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle left the area, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to Arapaho near Quitman, at approximately 11:03 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to CR 2132 near Quitman; at approximately 1:31 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to make contact with the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 1:46 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies were advised an individual was firing a gun outside of his vehicle’s window, while driving. Glen Usry, 55, of Hawkins, was arrested for Unlawful Carry Handgun License Holder.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 6882 near Mineola, at approximately 2:49 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated, prior to the deputies’ arrival.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2377 near Alba, at approximately 3:08 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and the building was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1795 near Hawkins, at approximately 3:56 p.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and the building was secure.

At 3:59 p.m., horses were reported out on CR 1912 near Yantis.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party over the phone, at approximately 5:35 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on PR 5813 near Yantis. A known actor stole several items from the reporting party’s property. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to Wildwood Trail near Hawkins, at approximately 10:14 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies went out on an Arrest/Warrant Service to CR 3620 near Hawkins, at approximately 11:54 p.m. Jason Lee, 30, of Hawkins, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and Prohibited Substance in Correctional Facility.

August 5th

Deputies were dispatched to Lake Hawkins, at approximately 1:13 a.m., in reference to a noise complaint. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any activity.

Deputies were dispatched to PR 8697 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:27 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. A known individual that currently has a Criminal Trespass Warning on the area was on the property. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 2:54 a.m. Deputies located the vehicle parked in the roadway. Lynsey Bunn, 34, of Hawkins, was arrested for Public Intoxication and Obstructing Highway Passage.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 9:57 a.m., in reference to criminal trespass. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Winnsboro, at approximately 3:00 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. The individual was located and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 37 near Quitman, at approximately 3:57 p.m., in reference to reckless driving. Deputies located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Gabriel Vazquez, 58, of Winnsboro, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

At 7:02 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 14 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 8:22 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2435 near Mineola, at approximately 9:11 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Craig Garrett, 42, of Mineola, was arrested for Terroristic Threat of Family/Household, Unlawful Possession of Firearm, and Possession of Dangerous Drug.

August 6th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 80 near Mineola, at approximately 12:30 a.m., in reference to an animal complaint. The dogs were located and cleared. While running the reporting party’s information, it showed one of the individuals to have a warrant. Terrance Walker, 22, of Forney, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1887 near Yantis, at approximately 1:04 p.m., in reference to a structural fire. Upon arrival, deputies were advised the residence burned the night before and was not reported. The scene was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 1647 near Winnsboro, at approximately 2:28 p.m., in reference to a hang-up 911 call. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate any individuals.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4651 near Winnsboro, at approximately 5:57 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 6:31 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 3854 near Quitman.

At 7:08 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 2330 near Mineola.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 2869 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:43 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated for the night.

At 11:01 p.m., cows were reported out on CR 4430 near Winnsboro.

August 7th

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 12:02 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Parties were separated and the scene was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Yantis, at approximately 5:12 a.m., in reference to an alarm. Deputies checked the area and the building was secure.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2774 near Mineola, at approximately 6:50 a.m., in reference to a dispute. The reporting party wanted a Criminal Trespass Warning issued to the other party. A Criminal Trespass Warning was issued to the individual over the phone.

Deputies were dispatched to Main St. near Yantis, at approximately 8:07 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. Actors, or actors unknown, damaged the reporting party’s work shop. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 9:17 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Quitman.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 69 near Mineola, at approximately 11:36 a.m., in reference to a disturbance. Deputies checked the scene and everything was cleared.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 778 near Quitman, at approximately 3:16 p.m., in reference to an inquest. The Justice of the Peace arrived and a male, 64, was found deceased in his residence. No autopsy was ordered.

At 6:13 p.m., cows were reported out on FM 1647 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1210 near Quitman, at approximately 6:57 p.m., in reference to a disturbance where an assault occurred. This case is active.

Deputies were dispatched to Holly Lake Ranch, at approximately 7:38 p.m., in reference to a dispute. Parties were separated for the night.

Deputies were dispatched to FM 14 near Hawkins, at approximately 10:54 p.m., in reference to a disturbance. An actor left the scene, prior to the deputies’ arrival. Deputies located the vehicle and confiscated drug paraphernalia. Zachary Crumpton, 29, of Hawkins, was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

August 8th

Deputies were dispatched to CR 1676 near Alba, at approximately 6:22 a.m., in reference to criminal mischief. A known actor damaged the reporting party’s A/C unit and window. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

At 7:05 a.m., horses were reported out on FM 515 near Winnsboro.

At 7:37 a.m., cows were reported out on FM 2088 near Winnsboro.

At 9:47 a.m., cows were reported out on CR 4580 near Winnsboro.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 4560 near Winnsboro, at approximately 10:20 a.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 2700 near Mineola, at approximately 12:23 p.m., in reference to a burglary. Actors, or actors unknown, stole several items from the reporting party’s building. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies spoke with the reporting party at approximately 5:38 p.m., in reference to a theft that occurred on CR 4390 near Leesburg. A known actor stole jewelry from the reporting party’s residence. This case has been forwarded to investigators.

Deputies were dispatched to CR 3811 near Hawkins, at approximately 5:49 p.m., in reference to a welfare check. Deputies located the individual and everything was OK.

Deputies were dispatched to HWY 154 near Quitman, at approximately 8:18 p.m., in reference to an assault that occurred. This case is active.

Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle on FM 2869 near Hawkins; at approximately 10:07 p.m. Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Between the dates of August 2nd and August 8th, Wood County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to multiple agency assists that included Police Departments and Emergency Medical Services.

Total Jail Count – 139 prisoners – 112 males and 27 females.
