CANHelp Back to School Fair: Registration Update

It’s time to register for school supplies for the 2017 Back to School Fair; benefiting youth and families in the Hopkins County area. The registration process for school supplies began on July 3rd at CANHelp. School supplies and back packs will be the only thing needing to be registered for in advance. CANHelp’s previous school supplies drives were extremely successful and they averaged 300-400 families each year. Through this event, CANHelp Officials want to reach thousands of families. Over 60% of the children in Hopkins County schools come from disadvantaged families, some of the schools have over 70%.

This Back to School Fair will replace the “Pack the Bus” School Supplies Drive that CANHelp personnel hosted for over 10 years. The fair will be open to the public and will be similar to the back to school fairs that are put on in larger metropolitan areas. CANHelp workers will be giving away free backpacks and school supplies for low and moderate income families but everyone will be able to take part in other free items that will be available. This will be an educational and interactive event.

This event will be a one-stop destination to prepare the whole family for the start of school. The fair will offer FREE: health and vision screenings, dental screenings and fluoride applications, immunizations for children and adults, hair cuts, food and drinks and more! The 2017 Back to School Fair is scheduled for Friday, August 4th from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Hopkins County Civic Center.

Be sure to stop by CANHelp or go online to register for your school supplies today!
