Tommy White

Tommy White, age 86 of Cartwright, passed away on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 at his home. He was born on January 14th, 1931 in Shelby County to the late Felix White and Bessie White. He was a retired barber, and minister. He and his wife owned and operated White’s Family Haircare from 1977 to 2015 and he served and pastor of Cartwright Baptist Church from 1977-1993. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Winnsboro, a member of the American Legion, served on the board of directors of Wood county Farm Bureau and was a longtime supporter of the FFA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Joshua Earl White; four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Fleta White of Cartwright; sons, Tommy E. White of Cartwright, Stephen C. White and his wife Sharron of Cartwright; brothers, Tandy White of Merritt, Kenneth White of Garland, James White of Antlers, OK; sister, Betty Earl of McKinney; two grandchildren, Tommy J. White and Catherine White and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 27th, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro 816 W. Broadway Winnsboro, TX 75494. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, May 28th, 2017 at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro at 2:00 pm, Dr. David Rose conducting, interment will follow at Concord Cemetery in Quitman, with Tommy Earl White, Tommy J. White, Lance Shirley, Charles Carroll, Bob Clelland, Burt White serving as pallbearers.
