Memorial service for Shanda Vaughn Beck, 52, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. B.J. Teer and Bro. Tommy Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., prior to service. Shanda passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Christus Mother Frances in Sulphur Springs.
She was born on August 27, 1964 in Sulphur Springs, the daughter of Ray and Connie Lee Vaughn. She graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1982 and later went to Cedar Valley College in Lancaster. She worked as a registered veterinary technician for Tide Water Veterinary Hospital for many years.
She is survived by son, Brandon Beck and wife Christina of Sulphur Springs, sister, Toynia Jones and husband Kyle of Detroit, grandchildren, Hope and Braydon Beck, Michael, Rachel, and Kristan Ratcliff, Hayden Gresham, step-mother, Sharlynn “momma” Vaughn, sister by choice, Evelyn Kaler, two step-sisters, Linda and Theresa, one step-brother, John, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Lannie Ray Vaughn. Memorials may be made to the Hearts of Life Animal Rescue at 471 Co Rd 4510, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
