Mayor Glass Proclaims May 14-20, 2017 Nursing Home Week in Sulphur Springs

The City of Sulphur Springs honored National Nursing Home Week Monday at 2 p.m. as Mayor Emily Glass read a proclamation declaring the Week, May 14 to 20, 2017. Mayor Glass noted the week at the urging of Arvis Tanton, owner of Carriage House Manor and the Cottages.

In the proclamation, Mayor Glass stated that “we honor and respect our elders and citizens of any age with physical or intellectual disabilities who reside in skilled nursing care centers in Sulphur Springs.”

The theme for the week is “The Spirit of America”. The mayor urges “…all citizens to visit a loved one, family member, or friend residing in any care setting and offer a kind work, a personal touch, and spend time participating in various activities to unite those from all walks of life in need of continuing love and support.”

Mayor Glass stated that her administration is committed to quality health care and embraces the essence of the week’s theme.
