Funeral Service for Alejo Alvarez, age 76, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at St. James Catholic Church, Sulphur Springs. Interment will follow at Greenview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. with rosary at 7:00 P.M. Mr. Alvarez passed away Sunday, April 30, 2017, at Baylor Scott and White, Plano, TX.
Alejo was born on July 17, 1940 to Antonio and Emeteria (Gonzalez) Alvarez in Leon GTO, Mexico. He married Olivia Bustillos and worked in the Service Industry.
Alejo is survived by his wife, Olivia Bustillos; sons, Armando Alvarez, Antonio Alvarez, Martin Alvarez, Francisco Alvarez; daughters, Margarita Alvarez, Claudia Alvarez, Marta Alvarez and Lorena Alvarez; sisters, Cruz Alvarez, Reyna Diaz, Lourdes “Contreras” Alvarez, Carmen Alvarez; brothers, Jesus Alvarez, Fidel Alvarez, J. Guadalupe Alvarez, Deonicia Alvarez; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Alejo was preceded in death by his parents and sister Escoslastia Mendoza.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
