Ten Wildcats’ powerlifters have qualified for Saturday’s regional meet in Lindale.
The qualifiers are Alex Rodriguez and Oscar Yanez in the 114 pound weight class, Cason Goodson in the 132 pound weight class, freshman George Greenway V in the 148 pound weight class, Carson Bridges in the 165 pound weight class, Cor’Tavius Pruitt, Vincent Morales and Isaiah Neal in the 181 pound weight class, D’idrec Dugan in the 220 pound weight class and Ian Blanch in the 275 pound weight class.
Wildcats Powerlifting Coach Casey Jeter said he was proud of his guys and he was also happy to top the nine lifters that qualified last year for then Powerlifting Coach Jeremy Offutt. Coach Jeter said his lifters would have a weigh-in Friday at Lindale. The regional meet gets underway at 9 a.m. Saturday. The top 2 lifters in each weight class will qualify for the state meet. Each class also has an automatic qualifying weight total. Coach Jeter said 5 of his lifters are in the top five in the region. He added all ten of his lifters are capable of earning points.
Coach Jeter said the four top teams in the region are Waxahachie, Huntsville, Hallsville and Sulphur Springs.
