Saltillo Lions 49, Miller Grove 39
The Saltillo Lions improved their district record to 2-0 with a 49-39 win over Miller Grove Tuesday at Saltillo. The Lions are now 12-14 for the season. Trevor Moore scored 20 points to lead Saltillo. Mathew Gurley added 11 points, Michael Simmons 6 points, Walker McGill 5 points, Clayton Wilson 4 points and Lyle Bench had 3 points. The Lions led 18-11 after one quarter and 28-23 at the half. The Lions incresed their lead to 38-31 after three quarters. The Lions will travel to Roxton Friday night.
Saltillo Lady Lions 48, Miller Grove 41
The Saltillo Lady Lions outscored Miller Grove in each of the first three quarters and then held on to their lead winning 48-41 Tuesday night at Miller Grove. The Lady Lions led 13-11 after one quarter and 24-18 at the half. The Lady Lions also led 36-26 after three quarters. The Lady Lions leading scorer was Ana Gallegos with 12 points. Melissa Groenewold added 10 points. Sienna Collins had 8 points, Tori Mobley had 6 points, Jocelyn Ochoa and Jordan Sustaire had 4 points each, and Madison Simmons and Melissa Tawil scored 2 points each. Miller Grove was led by Rosa Schones with 13 points. Kayleigh Leslie added 11 points, Candace Earp scored 7 points and Alexis Green, Ashley Purser and Aleigh Bessonett scored 2 points each.
