Funeral Services for Roy Petross set for Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Petross passed away on January 13, 2017 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital, Sulphur Springs.
He was born August 9, 1925 in Weatherford, Texas, the son of Calvin and Ruby (Stacy) Petross. He married Sammie Robnett on August 31, 1947 on the S.S. Regon. He was a retired dairy farmer and letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Fanning in WWII as Seaman First Class Gunner’s Mate. He was a member of the Seymore Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Sammie Petross; daughter, Elvira Browning and husband Lonnie; six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Erlene Counts and Joyce Kennimer; brother, R.A. Petross; sisters, Rita Mae Dancy, Beula Fay Douglass and Mary Frances Sartin.
