The Lady Cats’ basketball team came away with a big district win at Mt. Pleasant, 43-41 Friday night.
The Lady Cats seemed to be cruising at halftime as they led 26-16. They held the Lady Tigers to a single point in the second quarter. Mt. Pleasant fought back in the third quarter and the Lady Cats took a slim 33-31 lead into the final quarter. The Lady Cats matched Mt. Pleasant point for point in the fourth quarter to come out on top.
Sadavia Porter led the Lady Cats with 15 points. Kaylee Jefferson added 10 points and Autumn Tanton scored 8 points. The Lady Cats shot a red hot 54% from the field but were a ice cold 0 for 9 from three-point range. Jefferson and Tanton had 8 rebounds apiece. The Lady Cats had 23 turnovers.
The Lady Cats move into first place in the district standings with a 6-0 record as the first half of district play is concluded. The Lady Cats are now 20-3 for the season. The Lady Cats begin the second half of district play by hosting Greenville at Wildcats Gym Tuesday evening.
