Homecoming Games are Big Wins for Saltillo Lions, Lady Lions

Both the Saltillo Lions and Lady Lions got big wins over Fannindel Friday night. Mason McGill was presented as Homecoming Queen during the evening.

The Lions topped Fannindel 86-48 and the Lady Lions won 83-27. Lyle Bench led the Lions with 23 points. Matt Gurley scored 19 points, Michael Simmons had 14 points and Trevor Moore added 12 points. Ryan Prewitt scored 6 points, Clayton Wilson 5 points, Walker McGill 3 points, and Branson McGill and Logan Camp 2 points apiece. The Lions improved to 11-14 for the season.

The Lady Lions got a big game from Madison Simmons who had 30 points. Tori Mobley had 12 points. Jocelyn Ochoa and Melissa Groenewold had 8 points apiece. Jordan Sustaire added 7 points.Ana Gallegos had 4 points, Rainie English, Brenda Castro, Melissa Tawil and Christie Gurley had 3 points apiece. Shelby Matlock had 2 points.

Both the Lions and Lady Lions will play Miller Grove Tuesday. The Lady Lions play at 6 p.m. and the Lions game against Miller Grove will follow.
