Mr. Jerry Mote passed away Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Sunny Springs Nursing and Rehab Facility. A private service will be held for family only at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. He was born May 31, 1935 in Sulphur Springs, the son of F.C. Mote and Anne (Boggs) Mote.
Mr. Mote graduated from Odessa High School followed by five years in the Marine Corps. before going into law enforcement in Big Spring, TX and then Altadena, CA. Upon the death of his younger brother, he returned home to Martin Springs and ran a dairy in Como up until his retirement. His favorite activity was joining his friends every day for iced tea at Joe Bob’s Café.
He is survived by his sister, Billie Ruth Standbridge and husband, George of Sulphur Springs; nephew, Morgan Standbridge and wife, Angeline and son Cedric of Irvine, CA; niece, L. Mikelle Standbridge and husband, Simone Rizzi of Milan, Italy; cousins, Ted Boggs and wife, Darlene of Reilly Springs, Mindy (Boggs) Nelson and husband, Dickie of Sulphur Springs, and daughters, Erica and Megan, and Kathy Rudd and husband, Ronnie of Winnsboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F.C. Mote and brother, Buddy Frank Mote.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
