PJC Proposition Fails in All But One County

Only Lamar County approved the proposition to enter the Paris Junior College District during the November General Election Tuesday. All other counties, Delta, Fannin, Hopkins, Hunt, and Red River, voting on the proposition declined the invitation.

Lamar County voters approved the measure with 5,491 (55%) for and 4,576 (45%) against.

In Hopkins and Delta County, it wasn’t even close. In Hopkins County 7,164 (70%) voted “No” and 3,126 (30%) voted for the proposition. In Delta County 1,353 (67%) were against and 664 (33%) were for the proposition.

In other counties:

Fannin: For 583 (44%) vs. Against 787 (58%)

Hunt: For 11,194 (40.75%) vs. 16,275 (59.25%)

Red River: 1,739 (45.33%) vs. 2,097 (54.67%)
