SSHS Cross Country Wildcats Finish First; Lady Cats Finish Second

Both the Wildcats and Lady Cats’ cross country teams had overall good days Saturday as the Wildcats finished first and the Lady Cats second at a Mt. Pleasant meet. The course will also serve as the site for the district meet on October 19. Cross Country Coach Ross Hicks said nearly everyone on the teams had times that were personal bests.

For the Wildcats, Peyton Vickery finished third at the meet while Landon Thornton was close behind in fourth place. Andrew Escobar and Eli Sellers finished about ninth and ten in the race according to Coach Hicks. Three more runners had top fifteen finishes: Ed Ramirez, Alex Estrada and Nabian Ramirez.

For the Lady Cats, Lauren Helm finished in fourth place. Lady Cats finishers after Helm were Sydney Washburn, Gracie Boyer, Hannah Dixon and Taylor Robinson. This week the Wildcats and Lady Cats will run at a Lindale meet Thursday.
