Karen McMillan

newspaper-picMemorial Services for Karen McMillan, age 65, of Sulphur Springs, will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016, at 10 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Pickton, with Rev. Mike Haun and Rev. B.J. Teer officiating.

Karen was born October 21, 1950 in Anahuac, Texas the daughter of Carl and Helen Jeoffroy Stengler. She married Paul McMillan February 15, 1969. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker. Karen was active in church serving as Girls in Action Leader, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school director and church pianist. In the community, she was a Girl Scouts and Brownie leader in Winnie, Texas and volunteered at Joaquin Elementary School Library. Karen passed away September 4, 2016, at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab.

She is survived by daughters, Angela Jenkins and husband Kevin, of Como, and Rachael Haberlen and husband Karheinz, of Weinsberg, Germany; grandsons, Corban Jenkins of Marshall, and Christian and Jason Haberlen of Weinsberg, Germany; brother, Craig Stengler and wife Mary Beth, of Anahuac. A special thanks is given to Heart to Heart Hospice and the residents and staff at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab, who cared for and loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Tabernacle Baptist Church Youth Fund, P.O. Box 123, Pickton, Texas 75471 or Gideon’s International.
