Funeral Services for Mary Jean Edwards, age 75, of Sulphur Springs, have been set for 1:00PM, Monday, July 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Troy Young officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Damon Nash, Bryant Jackson, Tommy Clayton, Prince Beachum, Reggie Thomas and Kenneth Cork.
Mrs. Edwards was born on March 19, 1941, the daughter of Raymond Smith and Mary Lou (Wright) Smith in Sulphur Springs. She married Willie Edwards, Jr. on March 30, 1963 in Hopkins County. Mary worked for Aerostar as a balloon assembler for 29 years before retiring and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include, her husband; one daughter, Barbara Nash; two granddaughters, Shaniqua Harper and Dakesha Nash; two great granddaughters, Jadyn Harper and Jaslyn Carter; two sisters, Delois Cook and Glovonne Cobbin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Carl Smith.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tapp Funeral Home.
