Dale G. Watts

WattsFuneral services for Dale G. Watts, age 87, of Sulphur Springs, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 13, 2016 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.  Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Brent Guldahl, Greg Guldahl, Jeff Rorie, Ashby Spruiell, Kyle Barnett and Shane Barnett serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to service time.  Mr. Watts passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Carriage House Manor.

Mr. Watts was born on July 26, 1928 in Cuthand, TX, the son of James Watts and Opal Gibson Watts.  He married Peggy Gaw on October 13, 1951 in Big Sandy.  She survives.  Mr. Watts served in the United Stated Army, 25th Infantry Division, during WWII.  Mr. Watts started out in the automobile business with Chrysler Credit and  bought the Chrysler dealership in Sulphur Springs and then he opened Dale Watts Used Cars.  He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.

In addition to his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Marque Guldahl and husband Walter of Rowlett, Shelia Rorie and husband, Joe of Sulphur Springs, brother, Bobby Watts and wife June of Watauga, grandchildren, Brent Guldahl, Greg Guldahl, Jeff Rorie, Ashby Spruiell, Brittney Spruiell, Courtney Rorie and Angie Guldahl, great-grandchildren, Lyla Guldahl, Landry Guldahl, Rorie Spruiell, Maggie Spruiell, Kyle Barnett, Payton Barnett and Jacy Barnett along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.
