Sulphur Springs High School Band presented annual awards at the 2016 Band Banquet this past weekend.
The John Philip Sousa Award was presented to Zachary Herron and Timothy Ramos. Gillan Boyer received the Director’s Award. Aaron Randolph and Jose Lopez received the Louis Armstrong Award and Carlos Williams was presented the Rex Wilemon Legacy award.
Outstanding musician awards were presented to Freshmen: Carissa Carter, Jaci Glenn, and Maddy Ray; Sophomores: Celeste Leeds Laliberte, Riley Farley, and Natalie Cruz; Juniors: Owen Lee, Sarah Anderson, and Sam Robinson.
Blue and Gold awards were presented to Kaitlyn Ludwick for leardership on colorguard; Kate Flores, Natalie Contreras, and Anna Tellez for performing twice at halftime (band and drill team); Alice Lopez, Happy; Kimberly Weems, Great Kid; Madison Jackson, Most Improved; Autom Wilson, Most Improved; Jackie Rodriguez, Perseverance; Cris Rodenis, confidence at UIL; Sofia Guererro, Region Band; Kaitlyn Ferrill, Perseverance; Peyton Baugh, Region Band and Solo First Division; Seth Womack, Region Band and Solo First division; Christian Corona, Region Band; Travis Pundt, Region Band; Isaac Lamb, Region Band; and Shelby Stoddard, Second Chair in Region Band.
