Skies were cloudy but didn’t deter the crowd of participants at the May 30 “Honor Our Veterans” Memorial Day observance in downtown Sulphur Springs. Mrs. Darlene Stanford, Executive Director of Kindred Hospice in Greenville was the organizer. She has a soft place in her heart for Veterans, especially the elderly who served during their lifetime. Mrs. Stanford arranged for a brief but moving commemoration of the meaning of Memorial Day (Remembrance Day, Decoration Day) and utilized Hopkins County leaders for the formalities. ┬áHere are some of the groups and individuals who attended.
