Six Runs in the Sixth Provide Lady Cats Sixth Win in District

ladycat softball 16When the Marshall Lady Mavericks scored four runs in the top of the fifth inning to take a 7-5 come from behind lead over the Lady Cats’ softball team Tuesday night at Lady Cat Park, one might think back to the similar recent 8-7 loss to Pine Tree. Fortunately the Lady Cats erased all that as they exploded for six big runs in the bottom of the sixth inning on their way to an 11-7 win.

The Lady Cats outhit the Lady Mavs 16 to 10. Kristen Allen had two big hits and drove home six runs. Sadie Stroud had two hits and 2 RBIs. Hannah Crowson also had two hits. Landri Bell went most of the way in the circle and Sarah Womack finished up including a strong seventh inning.

The Lady Cats are now 6-3 in district play and 22-5 for the season. They will travel to Texas High Friday night.
