The Lady Cats’ softball team shut out Greenville, 5-0 Friday night in Greenville. The shutout was a combined effort by Landri Bell and Bailey Haggerty.
The Lady Cats scored a run in the top of the first inning, then added two more in the fourth inning and two final runs in the seventh inning. The Lady Cats improved their district record to 8-4. They are in third place. They just missed out on qualifying for the playoffs. Had Pine Tree defeated Texas High, the Lady Cats would have been in. Texas High had a walk off win over Pine Tree Friday night. The loss lowered Pine Tree’s record to 7-5 in district play. They are tied with Texas High in fourth place. Hallsville is on top and Mt. Pleasant is in second place. This week the Lady Cats host Hallsville Tuesday night and then Pine Tree Friday night on Senior Night.
