Lady Cats’ Season Ends at Regional Quarterfinal; A Grand Run

DSC_0040An historic Lady Cats’ soccer season came to an end Tuesday night in Terrell as the Lady Cats lost to Mansfield Legacy, 2-0 in a regional quarterfinal game. The two teams battled for over 72-scoreless minutes before the Lady Broncos finally got on the scoreboard at the 7:32 mark of the second half. With the Lady Cats pushing to tie the score, Mansfield Legacy tacked on a second goal at 3:48.

This year’s Lady Cats’ team is expected to be remembered not for a regional quarterfinal loss but for getting there in the first place. To do so, the Lady Cats won their first ever playoff game and got past the Area round for the first time ever. Of the players on the playoff roster, only one starter will graduate. Everybody else returns. The Lady Cats end the season with a 19-7-1 record. Their 8-5-1 district mark was good enough for a third place finish.
