Wildcats face Lufkin and Lady Cats take on Whitehouse in a soccer bi-district doubleheader Friday at Rose Stadium in Tyler. The Wildcats take the pitch at 6 p.m. and the Lady Cats at 8 p.m.
The Wildcats’ soccer team grabbed a playoff spot with a winner take all victory over Hallsville, 2-1 in overtime last Friday night. Tanner Rameriz scored for the Wildcats during regulation and in the first overtime period, the Wildcats got a second goal from Gerardo Arellano. The Wildcats defense made it stand up. The Wildcats finished the regular season in third place in district.
The Lady Cats ended up in third place in the district race. The Lady Cats compiled a district record of 8-5-1 and a season mark of 17-6-1.
