Wildcats Baseball Pick Up Win at Rose City Classic

It took until their fourth game in the Rose City Classic for the Wildcats Baseball Team to break into the win column. They did so in style with a solid, 8-0 win over Nacogdoches Friday afternoon. Ryan Humphries was solid on the mound. The Wildcats scored a second inning run on a fielder’s choice grounder from Rider Caddell. The Wildcats made it 3-0 in the third on a centerfielder’s error and an RBI double by Garrett Jones. The score climbed to 4-0 after four on an RBI single by Triston McCormack. Then the Wildcats scored four big runs in the sixth inning. One run scored on an error and the Wildcats also got a sacrifice fly from McCormack, an RBI double from Tyler Follis and an RBI single from Mason Buck.

Earlier Friday the Wildcats lost 6-1 to Beaumont West Brook in 8 innings. The game was tied 1-1 after a regulation seven innings. The Wildcats season record is now 1-2-1. They will conclude play in the Tyler tournament with a 5 p.m. game Saturday against Whitehouse at Mike Carter Fie
