SSHS Solo & Ensemble Advance to State

The Sulphur Springs High School Solo & Ensemble choir competed  at Texas A&M University Commerce Friday, February 5. 19 students attended competition and nine will be advancing to the State level.

Students worked with private voice teacher Monica Lancaster in order to prepare for competition. The choir students received their music in November and have practiced both after school and at home. Choir began working on their pieces during class time in January.

State competition will be held at UT Austin in May. The advancing students are senior Riley Bridges, senior Sarah Bennett, senior Brittany Henderson, junior Karolina Espinoza, junior Sydnee Hawkins, junior Savannah McAfee, sophomore Cinthya Cortez, sophomore Alyssa Leuzinger, and freshman Hope Williams.
