Graveside funeral services for Odessa Bearden, age 96 of Mesquite, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Restlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 15, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Odessa passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016 at her residence. She was born on April 4, 1919 in Nelta, the daughter of Samuel Hebber and Carrie Elmyra (Stubblefield) Harris. She was a seamstress, won the Hopkins County Stew cook-off twice, member of the Historical Society and the Senior Citizen Thrift Store.
Survivors include her son, Harris Bearden and wife, Lolita of Mesquite; grandchildren, Christopher, Kimberly, Ryan and Drew and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, R.D. Bearden and one son, Ray Dan Bearden.
