Miller Grove News

Texas weather is unpredictable at the least.  We have had warm, cold, and raining all in the same week.  Hopefully the winter won’t be much worse but we have all of February to go and we do get freezing weather in March occasionally.

Happy Birthday to Josh George on Jan. 23, Susan (Scott) Crank & Eric Mabe on Jan. 24, Michael Garrett on Jan. 25, my uncle Johnny Darrow on Jan. 26, Lori (Combs) Northcutt on Jan. 27, Dalton Darrow on Jan. 30, and John Mooney on Jan. 31.
Please keep Judy Slatter and Susan (Renshaw) White in your prayers.  They have both had bouts in the hospital lately.

MGISD’s second portable building has been moved from near the cafeteria to it’s temporary home near the baseball field.  As soon as it is dry enough I believe dirt work and the first steps of the new elementary addition will begin to come together.

I hope to see everyone at Miller Grove School’s annual Homecoming basketball game Friday night (Jan. 22).  I think there is a good line-up on students chosen to be on Homecoming court this year.  The nominees are:  Brennan Green & Kayla Ford, Trey Lester & Candace Earp, Derek McCreigh & Bailey Penny, Colton McDonald & Eden Godwin, and Jonathan White and Aleigh Bessonett.  Festivities will begin after the boys’ basketball game.

As you travel the highways and byways don’t forget that all roads lead back home and back to Miller Grove. Please send me any newsworthy information. My email address is [email protected].
